Heroic Nythraxis — the 10-player raid ⚔️

v0.25 gives the endgame raid a Heroic tier. Nythraxis, Scourge of Thornpeak — the 10-player fight beyond the sealed royal door in Thornpeak Heights — now has a harder difficulty that layers the Deathless Court onto the normal script and drops raid-tier heroic gear plus three heroic-only weapons.

⚔️ The basics: convert to a raid group, complete the attunement quest, and zone in. Heroic adds a summoned trio of spirits (the Deathless Court) and a punishing raid-heal channel you must crowd-control. Beat it once per daily reset for the best non-crafted loot in the game.

Getting in

  • Raid group required — you must convert your party to a raid before the royal door will admit you.
  • Attunement — you need the quest "Nythraxis, Bound Guardian" completed. It's the tail of the Thornpeak crypt chain (Restless Dead → Graves → Sealed Crypt → Bound Guardian → Scourge's End). Without it: "The royal door is sealed to you."
  • No backing out — once Nythraxis is engaged the door seals and reopens only on his death or a full wipe.

The fight (heroic layer)

The normal encounter is a two-phase fight — a Gravebreaker frontal cone and raised adds in phase one, a transition at 70% HP into phase two with Soul Rend, Deathless Rage and arena wardstones, and a Final Stand enrage at 5%. Heroic keeps all of that and turns the dials up:

Mechanic Normal Heroic
Soul Rend marks 3 players 6 players (stack to split)
Deathless Rage (if not interrupted) 82% max HP 115% max HP — a wipe
Dread Curse on the tank +10% damage taken per stack, every 15s, up to 10 stacks
The Deathless Court a summoned trio of spirits

Interrupt Deathless Rage by soaking the three arena wardstones — each needs a different player to finish a 5-second channel; complete all three at once and the boss is stunned for 5 seconds.

The Deathless Court & Malric's Mending

Each Deathless Rage cycle, Nythraxis raises his court — Spirit of Aldren (warrior), Spirit of Malric (priest) and Spirit of Voss (rogue). Aldren is immune to crowd control; Malric and Voss can be CC'd.

Spirit of Malric is the whole fight. He channels Malric's Mending — an escalating heal on the boss that ramps every few seconds toward a cap so high that no raid can out-damage it. The source is blunt about it: even a max-geared raid cannot burn through the capped channel. So:

🛑 Malric must be crowd-controlled. A stun, incapacitate or silence resets his ramp. He's deliberately squishy — you can burn him — but CC is the intended answer, and letting the channel reach cap means the boss heals faster than ten players can damage him.

Keep Malric locked down, split Soul Rend, soak the wardstones to stop Deathless Rage, and hold the tank alive through Dread Curse stacks.

Heroic rewards

Every heroic boss drop auto-upgrades to its raid-tier heroic variant (epics at item level 33, legendaries at 37) — you don't hunt separate pieces, the loot swaps on a heroic kill. On top of that, exactly one of three heroic-only weapons drops per kill:

Weapon Type Stats For
Deathless Greatblade 2H (45–68 dmg, 3.4 spd) +14 Str, +9 Sta Warrior / Paladin / Shaman
Scepter of the Deathless Court 1H caster (29–51, 2.4) +13 Int, +10 Spi Mage / Priest / Warlock / Druid
Stormcaller's Focus 1H (31–52, 2.5) +14 Int, +9 Spi Paladin / Shaman

Lockout

Nythraxis is on a daily raid reset (realm-local 3 AM), and the lockout is difficulty-scoped — a heroic kill locks only the heroic version, so you can still run it on normal the same day, and vice versa. The lock catches everyone involved: released ghosts, door-campers and party-leavers are all locked, though a defeated raider can re-enter their own live instance for a corpse run.

The associated deeds: Heroic: Scourge No More (25 Renown), None More Deathless — clear it with zero raider deaths (50, title "the Deathless"), and it counts toward Deepward (the Heroic-clear badge border).
