Heroic dungeons & the Heroic Quartermaster ๐ก๏ธ
v0.23 adds a Heroic difficulty to all four 5-player dungeons โ the same layouts, retuned harder, dropping Heroic Marks you spend on the game's only source of neck and ring jewelry.
๐ก๏ธ The loop: clear a dungeon on Heroic โ each dungeon drops 1 Heroic Mark a day off its final boss โ save up and buy epic rings (12 marks) and necklaces (16 marks) from Quartermaster Vex in Highwatch.
What Heroic difficulty is
Heroic re-runs a dungeon with its mobs pinned to level 22 โ two levels above the level-20 player cap โ hitting much harder. Same bosses, same layout, tuned for a well-geared group. There are no prerequisites: just select Heroic on the difficulty picker before you enter. (It's gear-gated by design rather than by a hard item-level lock.)
The four Heroic dungeons:
| Dungeon | Final boss |
|---|---|
| The Hollow Crypt | Morthen the Gravecaller |
| The Sunken Bastion | Vael the Mistcaller |
| The Drowned Temple | Ysolei |
| Gravewyrm Sanctum | Korzul the Gravewyrm |
Heroic Marks
- On a Heroic clear, every eligible member (including anyone downed at the end) loots 1 Heroic Mark from the final boss โ personal loot, no rolling or competition.
- Daily gate: each character can earn a mark from a given Heroic dungeon once per UTC day. Run all four and that's up to 4 marks per day.
- Marks are stackable inventory items; you can't vendor them for copper.
Lockouts land on the kill, not the door: once you've cleared a Heroic dungeon you can't claim a fresh Heroic run of it until the daily reset โ though you can still corpse-run back into your party's live instance. Normal and Heroic keep separate lockouts, so a Normal clear never burns your Heroic run.
Quartermaster Vex โ the jewelry vendor
The Heroic Quartermaster, Quartermaster Vex, stands in Highwatch (Thornpeak Heights, the level-20 zone). Every piece is Epic, level 20, item level 26, carries no armor type (any class can wear any piece), and is bought with Heroic Marks.
Rings โ 12 Heroic Marks each
| Ring | Stats |
|---|---|
| Seal of the Nine Oaths | +7 Strength, +4 Stamina |
| Sutil's Gambit | +7 Agility, +4 Stamina |
| Niela's Coldlight Band | +7 Intellect, +4 Stamina |
| Oath of the Round Table | +5 Strength, +6 Stamina |
| Zyzz's Deathless Signet | +5 Intellect, +6 Spirit |
| The Architect's Cornerstone | +6 Intellect, +5 Spirit |
Necklaces โ 16 Heroic Marks each
| Necklace | Stats |
|---|---|
| Swiftfang Talisman | +6 Strength, +6 Agility |
| Yumi's Keepsake Locket | +7 Agility, +5 Stamina |
| Zense Meridian | +7 Intellect, +5 Spirit |
| Medallion of Endless Profit | +7 Strength, +5 Stamina |
๐ Why it matters: jewelry slots have no other source in the game, so Heroic is the only way to fill your neck and both rings with epics. Pick by stat identity โ Strength for warriors/paladins, Agility for rogues/hunters, Intellect/Spirit for casters and healers.
Getting started
- Gear up on Normal dungeon and quest rewards until you can hold your own at level 20.
- Form a five, pick Heroic on the door, and clear.
- Loot your Heroic Mark from the final boss.
- Rotate through all four dungeons daily โ that's four marks a day toward a full jewelry set.
- Spend at Quartermaster Vex in Highwatch: budget ~36 marks for three rings, 16 per necklace.
