Death, Ghosts & Graveyards

Since v0.20, dying in World of Claudecraft works the WoW way: you leave a corpse where you fell and become a ghost. You choose how to come back.

What happens when you die

  1. Your body drops as a corpse at the spot you died.
  2. You appear as a ghost at the nearest graveyard, where a Spirit Healer (an angel) hovers.
  3. As a ghost you cannot interact with the world โ€” no looting, fighting, or using objects. Logging out preserves the death state; you're still a ghost when you return.

Two ways to resurrect

  • Corpse run (free). Run your ghost back to your corpse and reclaim your body. No penalty โ€” this is the standard, cost-free option.
  • Spirit Healer (instant, but costs). Accept the Spirit Healer's resurrection to revive on the spot at the graveyard. The price is Resurrection Sickness โ€” a temporary debuff that weakens you for a while. Use it when your corpse is somewhere dangerous or far away.

Tip: the corpse run is almost always worth it while leveling โ€” Resurrection Sickness makes the next few minutes much harder. Save the Spirit Healer for when the corpse is unreachable (mid-boss, over a cliff, deep in a pack).

Graveyards

A Spirit Healer waits at every graveyard below. When you die, you're sent to the nearest one. They're marked on the world map and rendered in the 3D zone maps.

Graveyard Zone Location (x, z)
Eastbrook Rest Eastbrook Vale โˆ’14, โˆ’14
Vale Chapel Yard Eastbrook Vale 4, โˆ’56
Fenbridge Barrow Mirefen Marsh โˆ’18, 286
Thornpeak Cairns Thornpeak Heights 15, 645
East Ridge Graves Thornpeak Heights 141, 712
West Spire Graves Thornpeak Heights โˆ’139, 787
Sanctum Approach Graves Thornpeak Heights 138, 838

Thornpeak Heights has four graveyards โ€” fitting for the zone where the world boss Thunzharr roams and deaths are frequent.
