The Book of Deeds โ€” achievements & Renown ๐Ÿ“–

v0.25 adds a full achievement system: the Book of Deeds, 192 deeds worth 2,365 Renown across everything you do โ€” levelling, dungeons, delves, PvP, collecting, exploring and story Chronicles. The rewards are cosmetic only: titles, nameplate badge borders, and public Renown standings. Nothing here ever makes your hero stronger.

๐Ÿ“– The basics: open the Book of Deeds window to see your deeds by category, pin ones you're chasing to the HUD tracker, and earn Renown as you complete them. Renown only ever climbs, and it's totalled on the realm Leaderboard โ†’ Renown tab.

The eleven categories

Category Deeds What it covers
Progression 30 Levelling, XP, talent points, prestige
Dungeon 27 Every dungeon + the raid, normal and Heroic
PvP 27 Arena, Vale Cup, Fiesta
Chronicle 24 Per-zone story arcs (the Chroniclers)
Collection 24 Discovering items, sets, wardrobe
Social 16 Party, market, bank
Delve 13 Reliquary & Drowned Litany, companions
Combat 10 Kills, world bosses
Exploration 9 Visiting every named place
Hidden 9 Secret deeds (see below)
Feat 3 Legacy "feats of strength"

A few examples of what a deed looks like:

  • First Steps โ€” reach level 2 (5 Renown)
  • The View From the Top โ€” reach the level-20 cap (25)
  • Legion of One โ€” defeat 10,000 enemies (25)
  • The Mountain Fell โ€” kill the world boss Thunzharr at Stormcrag (25)
  • Cryptbreaker โ€” defeat Morthen in Hollow Crypt (5)
  • The Grand Catalogue โ€” discover 250 items (50, grants a badge border)
  • World Traveler โ€” earn all three zone wayfarer deeds (25, title "the Wayfarer")

Renown, rarity & standings

Renown is the score attached to each deed. It's per-character to earn, but the realm leaderboard aggregates your Renown across all your characters (each deed counted once), and it only ever goes up.

The window shows each deed's rarity โ€” the fraction of eligible players who've earned it โ€” so you can see at a glance which of your deeds are genuinely rare. Public Renown standings live on the in-game Leaderboard โ†’ Renown tab, not on this wiki.

๐Ÿ’ก Some deeds are worth 0 Renown by design โ€” luck-based rolls, set/quality unlocks, and every Feat of Strength. They still show in your book; they just don't move your score.

Rewards: titles & badge borders

19 titles are tied to deeds. The title unlocks automatically the moment you earn its deed, but wearing it is your choice โ€” set your active title and it rides along on your nameplate, in chat, and on the boards. Examples: Paragon (1,000,000 lifetime XP), Gladiator (1900 arena rating), Boarball Legend (25 rated Vale Cup wins), the Deathless (Heroic Nythraxis with no raider deaths), Peakbreaker (kill Thunzharr without dying).

3 badge borders frame your name with a cosmetic crest:

Border Deed
Prestige Laurels Perpetual Motion โ€” reach prestige rank 10
Deepward Deepward โ€” clear every dungeon, the raid and both delves on Heroic
Curator's Gilt The Grand Catalogue โ€” discover 250 items

Like titles, borders are power-neutral โ€” pure prestige.

Hidden deeds

Nine deeds are hidden: they don't appear in the catalogue and reveal only once you've earned them. They're excluded from the "complete the whole book" meta, so you never need them. A few in the wild:

  • A Footnote in History โ€” pester Saul the Chronicler nine times in a row without talking to anyone else (title "the Footnote")
  • Joined the Family โ€” a certain Mirefen questline's secret ending
  • Natural Hundred โ€” roll a perfect 100 on /roll (0 Renown โ€” pure luck)

The Chroniclers

Three Chronicler NPCs โ€” Saul, Osric Fenn and Edda Hartwell โ€” anchor the story Chronicle deeds, one arc per zone, and track the places you've visited for the exploration deeds. There's no single "achievements NPC": the Book itself is a UI window; the Chroniclers are its in-world flavour. (Saul also quietly counts your consecutive chats for that Footnote deedโ€ฆ)
